Our EMI team explores the growth in the number of non-language subjects being taught in English around the world, the implementation of EMI and internationalisation policies, the perceived benefits of EMI at the national, institutional and individual level and the number of challenges associated with EMI.
We have collated a series of video abstracts to introduce key research in the field, research calls (funding calls, calls for papers) and in this part of our network, researchers (and students) can collaborate and post calls related to their research, including calls for participants.

English Medium Instruction (EMI) is a growing global phenomenon and has become one of the most significant trends in Higher education in non-Anglophone countries. Provision continues to outpace empirical research, although EMI is a flourishing field of study. In this section of the network, we have collated a series of research resources and updates on recent research projects, funding opportunities, events, talks and conferences, and readings related to EMI research.
We also have a ‘Meet the EMI Researchers’ series, which includes short blog/video interviews with EMI researchers on their current projects. You may also find our video abstracts to be a useful introduction to relevant research articles in the field. We also encourage network members to upload your research instruments and use the platform to find participants, collaborates, data collection sites and to get feedback on your research designs and project ideas.
