Associate Professor, Applied Linguistics (TESOL) Programme
Soe Marlar Lwin currently oversees the Graduate Diploma and Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) programmes at the Singapore University of Social Sciences. Prior to that she taught courses on the study of language to pre-service and in-service teachers at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Her research and teaching interests primarily lie in text and discourse analysis, study of narratives, language in education, and using stories and storytelling for language teaching. More recently, her interest in classroom discourse and language in education has developed further, and she has started to venture into the field of English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) in the classrooms of different curriculum subjects.
