Dr Jim Mckinley

What I'm Working On
Jim McKinley is currently engaged in several projects on the internationalisation of higher education. His UCL-funded project “The EU-13 Network for Academic Community Teamwork” (ENACT) is exploring the research funding application experiences of scholars in EU-13 countries. The data collection for the project started with a series of focus groups and interviews in Poland and Czechia in April 2019. He is also continuing to work on an EMI Oxford-supported study of language-related challenges in EMI university programs in Japan.
Book projects include the Routledge Handbook of Research Methods in Applied Linguistics, which Jim is co-editing with Heath Rose, and a manuscript entitled Innovations and Challenges in Research Methods in Applied Linguistics for a Routledge series edited by Ken Hyland.
