Gonzalo is a lecturer in English Language Teaching at London Metropolitan University, UK, where we is also the Course Leader for the MA Teaching Languages (English) programme.
He has a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Southampton and is also a member of the Centre for Global Englishes. He trained as a teacher of English in Chile and holds an MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT from King’s College London.
His research focuses on exploring language ideologies in ELT teacher education programmes as well as understanding their impact on the beliefs of English teachers, especially in non-native English speaking contexts. He has presented his research in a number of conferences and workshops around the world.
